I remember the Australian comedian Adam Hills making a joke about Australians intonating their voice at the end of each sentence so it makes them sound insecure lol.

When it comes to water most people would pronounce it was 'wort-er' but there are people, some who speak with a cockney accent who wouldn't say the 't' and it does sound weird. And if people are talking fast they just forget about the 't' sometimes haha.

I was quite surprised that you guys used the word 'shitfaced' aswell (you've used that word before too in the forums) meaning to get really drunk because I thought that was just a British thing which originated from the North of England. English can differ so much around the world though. Slang is constantly changing over here.

^yes my friend is from Liverpool and i think she sounds quite posh but i know shes not and Liverpool isnt a real posh area right? Most Australians have the same accent everywhere we go, but some up in the bush areas and country areas (like Dunt hahahaha) might use slang a bit more then city folk.

lol well there probably are posher places in Liverpool but I don't know much about it. But I do have one friend who lives in a small town close to Liverpool and she's from a fairly well off background and has a really posh accent, you would think she's from Southern England because of her accent.

I love accents. I love trying to do them and learning about them. To practice them, I just put them on when I go out and meet people I've never met (and never will again) or when I go to shops. It's sad I know.

Haha good video! At the beginning I was thinking that you reminded me of Murray from Flight of the Conchords (yep I know he's from NZ) and then you switched to that New York accent and said "Hey I'm walking here' just like he does in the show bahaha! Good touch! Very Happy

There is a huge difference in the accents but when I'm doing an Australian one for 6 minutes straight I can sometimes get confused.

That character is coming back so I really have got to practice.

huh? lol

I thought that was quite a good impression of an Australian accent, it's much better than my interpretation of their accent. "G'day mate' is about as far as I can go! I don't know why but I kinda find it a little harder to do an accurate Australian accent compared to some other ones. I think I sound like I'm mixing a variety of different accents haha.

Just watched your 'Australian accent' video Spune - you're almost there with it I'd say, I loved the bit where you said you couldn't speak Itailian, then you said, I can't even speak Australian lol.

You're very talented you know, I think you'll go far, keep up the good work! Very Happy

Ah thanks. I did that little routine to my year group (a shorter version and they all thought it was going to be a real presentation about Gap Years to begin with) and our Australian Principle said it was a great accent.

It's a really lovely accent to do. When you speak it, you can really enjoy the sounds and it is a very friendly and sunny sound. There are certain words I say with an Australian accent now for the soul reason that it sounds nicer than the British version.

Good Aussie accent Spune!

You sound about 90% Aussie - just pleeeeeease don't say "crikey" - only Steve Irwin ever said that (and Australians from about the WWII era); never everyday Joes (oh and Bindi Irwin does too - see what I mean - jeez).

Especially liked the bits about identifying Mexico on the world map, and your son having to find 1,000 drummers!

PS: Have checked out some of your other YouTube clips too - Becky rules!! More Becky!!
