Re: Character Portraits
^ I took your advice V (I say it 'Vee' in my head btw. I like that nickname cause it's only ONE letter and it sounds good =] ) and I sent him a message with the pic.
a few hours later...
"nice work sam. I'll put it up.
chris"
Too cool fo school
Thank you everyone for the lovely comments! I plan Mr. G next. Then maybe Phil looking all pompous or something.

Re: Character Portraits
You're really lucky to get a reply Sam! I've never gotten any personal thanks.
(I really sense he likes his overseas fans more then his Aussie fans)
Yeah everyone calls me V or Vi. Hahaha.

Re: Character Portraits
Yes, it's definitely awesome that he responded. I'm enthused for the Mr. G portrait.
Vi, have you attempted to send him some graphics through a message? perhaps he would respond to you, as he did with Sam. I don't see why he would not do so. You have created an a plethora of graphics for him.

Yes, the drawing is so great, Sam!
And I've never heard of him replying so fast... if at all! Congrats!

I did once a few months back. This was before i knew he (or someone with access to his Myspace/Facebook) lurked the boards and just took them from here. He's had plenty of opportunity to address me but he hasn't. He either doesn't feel like he has to or doesn't want to. I'm not going to pressure him or anything. I've never messaged him or Facebook or Myspace. I let him be because i know he'd want that. I just found it kinda ironic that i'm the one who told Sam to send it to him and he replies to her when i've been saying for ages i'd love to get a "thanks" or a reply for everything i've done. Ah well, what can you do? As long as you guys are grateful thats the main thing.
Sam you can send the birthday picture cause he may reply to you again. Someone has to send it anyway. I'm certainly not going to hahaha.

Re: Character Portraits
^ I have received bitchy/nasty comments for my work too in the past. Ignore them, you're more talented then they ever will be.
I know Chris won't like me saying this about his fans but alot of his fans over Myspace i think are brainless. They leave stupid comments like "so are you doing a SHH 2?" when he has already stated to the press that his new series is going to be called Angry Boys. Hence why i don't bother really commenting anymore on his Myspace.
Usually he deletes comments he doesn't approve of (like majority of mine...) so hopefully he'll remove them when he see's them.
Keep up the good work Sam, you're talented and you know that. Chris OBVIOUSLY agrees since he commented you back. I'm beyond jealous of you and i'm sure he and we all are looking forward to your next drawing you have in store for us.

Re: Character Portraits
Thanks for the comforting words, V. It means a lot to me. There's always going to be someone who doesn't like someone's art, no big deal, can't please everyone. If you guys and Chris appreciate it, that is ALL THAT MATTERS. And yeah, I've noticed about most of the myspace fans..
