Re: 60's and 70's Classic Rock.
Correct!
Let me just some of my favourite album's from that era (this is nowhere near comprehensive, just one's I can think of off the top of my head):
Tommy- the Who
Who's Next- the Who
Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust- David Bowie
Sticky Fingers- Rolling Stones
Born to Run- Bruce Springsteen
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band- The Beatles
Magical Mystery Tour- The Beatles
TNT- AC/DC
Saturday Night Fever- The BeeGees
Dynasty- KISS
Night at the Opera- Queen
Led Zepplin- Led Zepplin
Led Zepplin II- Led Zepplin
Led Zepplin III- Led Zepplin
Led Zepplin IV- Led Zepplin
Easy- The Easybeats
The list goes on and on and on and on... and on.
Although the 80's weren't half bad (they produced APpetite for Destruction- Guns n Rose and Kick- INXS, amongst many many others).
