Private Settings?
I was wondering if its possible to make the board private to the public? Requiring people to register and log in before accessing our boards? I post rare pics, videos, sigs etc and i'd rather not have lurkers look through our convos and steal my stuff. For example, someone stole my ARIA award video i posted a few months back and posted it on Youtube...no credit of course. And when i'm usually online its me as a registered user and 4-5 guests.
I think if we make people sign up before accessing the forum, at least we'll get more members and this may encourage them to post.

Re: Private Settings?
It's all possible (I've run boards before) but we just need the admin back.
I'm really starting to worry about him.

Re: Private Settings?
Glad you brought this up cos I'm often on with 'guests' (one is probably Chris lol) and think they should join up if they want to keep coming on and looking at pictures etc. Some forums allow guests to look at say a small section of the board but not the entire thing!
We should probably all pm him or something, he surely gets an email when he receives a pm? I agree though, he hasn't been on since New Year I think? Nobody else has control to do anything and we might get trolls lol!!!
Hope you're ok Thom!

Re: Private Settings?
Yeah I've noticed there are quite a few lurkers on these forums. I hope the Admin is alright too. I agree that this forums is also vulnerable to trolls and stuff like that if he's not around. Hope he comes back soon so he can take on board our suggestions!

^ Great idea, let's all PM him. At least then maybe we might get his attention. I hope he's ok, i mean, why else would he just leave?

Ok I've just sent him one, hopefully he'll get an email if his settings are correct.

Re: Private Settings?
I'll PM him now. And I've always been amazed at the fact that the highest number of people online on these forums at one time is 61?! I wonder how that happened haha!

Re: Private Settings?
^There was an error in the system. I hope we don't get spammed with porno or something (eww my innocent eyes!!). We'll wait until the end of this month, if he's not back by then, we might have to do something ourselves.
Actually, don't be suprised if he's more then a guest now.

Re: Private Settings?
Definitely give him to the end of the month.
If not maybe we'll have to make a new Chris forum.
Don't get me wrong, i love this place, but without an admin or anyone in power, anything can happen.

Re: Private Settings?
I've run popular forums in the past so I can help with anything. I've got my favourite forum providers as well and am pretty good at editing skins for them.
Re: Private Settings?
Yeah forums are so vulnerable without Admin or mods. Hopefully he'll come back soon if not then we do have to figure out a plan B.

Re: Private Settings?
Take it nobody's heard anything from him then?? I'm a bit worried now I must admit, I thought he'd be straight on after receiving our messages if he's got them.
I've set up basic forums before (although they've never lasted lol) and I'm also a mod on another fan site so I'd be happy to help if we do have to resort to a new one. Obviously I'd rather stay here though.

Re: Private Settings?
How long are we giving him? I'd much prefer to stay here but I think we do need an admin in control so we may have to move.
It is possible something very bad could have happened but those kinda things do happen. I really, really hope he's alright.

Re: Private Settings?
Hey, Guys. I run a few private message boards from the Forumotion site, so I'm in the process of working with the staff of forumotion to determine what we should do about this problem. I will keep you updated with the dialogue between me and Staff.

Re: Private Settings?
(puts on mummy head) Now lets not get too pesemistic guys - I'm worried too but it's possible that he just doesn't get email notifications when he receives a pm and is busy with other stuff and just hasn't bothered logging on, at the end of the day it's not been months and months, he was on here at the New Year. There could be all sorts of reasons why he's not been around.
Things are ok on the forum at the moment, we've not had any trouble and we're certainly keeping it active, so I say we leave it for a couple more weeks at least. Of course if anyone wants to set up new boards then I'm sure we'll all join and help, and it could be like a second home just in case we do have to abandon ship but lets just carry on for now.
Keep us posted Niccocola yep, that's great that you've asked for some advice.

Re: Private Settings?
My friend and I were actually planning on making a forum exclusively for cult comedy, for anyone that loves good, intelligent comedy. So maybe if you like we can just change that to be about Chris Lilley exclusively.
Re: Private Settings?
Oh gosh, I really hope he's alright. Let's just hope for the best! And yeah I agree with sugarpuff, we haven't had any problems so far so we'll see how things go. Getting in touch with forummotion is a good idea because if we don't hear anything for a while from Admin then maybe they can sort something out because it would be a shame to leave this forum behind.

Re: Private Settings?
We'll wait to hear an update from Nicole. If nothing can be done. Lets give it until the end of Feb. Spüne you might be able to help set one up. I can help with computer coding and programing if needed. We'll figure something out. We all just need to put our thinking caps on.

If I just make the foundations of one then we can use your awesome graphics.
Of course, I think we'd all like to stay here. We'll give to at least the end of Feb maybe start of March. Of course, even if we make a new forum we can still stay here and just keep that other one in case this one gets hacked or something.
