Some words/phrases us Americans don't understand. There should be a reference guide we can turn to when we get confused.
"Do you know Carly?"
Can someone please explain this?

"Do you know Kylie?" is something the detention center boys say as part of their clique. If you "know Kylie", you're not cool.

Here are some lists of Aussie slang words:

Hi Caroline!
Welcome to the forum. And ditto what Sam said. Watching Chris' shows has introduced to many new Australian words and phrases but some of them are just specific to Chris' shows like "Do you know Kylie" and "quiche". Feel free to ask if you aren't sure though. Smile
