Fantastic film.
And I saw Zack & Miri at the cinema and really enjoyed it.
Last few days I saw Quantum of Solace (I saw it at the cinema and fell asleep - not because it was boring but because I hadn't slept in about 35 hours and the only glasses I found to take to the cinema to watch were my perscription dark glasses... so I fell asleep for about a scene or two but it turned out they were very important scenes... anyway, I enjoyed it. Had the potencial to be really, really good but something went a bit weird in the editing room, it doesn't make much sense and feels far more like an epilogue to the outstanding Casino Royale then a film in itself. Anyway, looking forward to the next one because Daniel Craig and Judi Dench are just awesome) and Man on Wire (masterpiece... so moving).

My friend "stumbled" upon a copy of the new Wolverine film, which I also happened to watch somehow...
All I gotta say is GREAT!! Although it doesn't quite make sense as a prequel to X-Men, as it's own film it's great. Like a best-of package for Wolverine fans, it has the origin of his powers, and how the relationships that he has in the X-films are formed (Sabretooth from the first film, General Stryker from the second) and doesn't really slow down the action very much.
And for all the Jackman fans, he's absolutely ripped! And they don't spare any chances to gratuiously show his body throughout the film, so for a lot of the female gender there's the price of admission alone.
Also Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson/Deadpool, who isn't well known outside of comic fandom but very popular amongst comic readers, is perfectly cast. Basically the character is a smart-arse assasin, which suits Reynolds to a T!
The performances are great, but it does seem like they're putting characters in just for the fanboy vote, but it doesn't fell like they've been forced in and they all serve their purpose. I give it 3.5/5. Not as well crafted as the second film, but not as shit as the third. On par with the first IMO.
(Although the version I saw wasn't the finished article, so when I see it with the missing scenes and CGI finished I may have a different opinion.)

River Phoenix. I have no words.
Except A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon.
And maybe Dogfight.
I'm going to see Adventureland tomorrow night. Anyone seen it yet? Supposed to be hilarious.

^I love Dogfight too.
Yay!
I don't like the chick in it though. "Hi my name is Miranda Presley, no relation..." STFU you stupid cow LOL. You can tell River was heavily on drugs during this movie which is really sad.

Haven't seen it, but people I know have generally said it was good. Also, that it wasn't what they expected.

Just finished watching Grey Gardens on HBO. Absolutely BRILLIANT. There are not enough words to express how fantastic this film is. All of the performances were great: I was so proud of Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange's performance just knocked me off of my feet from her very first look. I definitely recommend checking it out.

Oh. My. God.
This movie was so great! I am not generally a fan of Drew's, I like her as herself, but I'm generally just not a fan of her acting. She really nailed Little Edie. I mean, I was crying by the end of the film. I was so taken with her throughout the whole movie!
And Jessica Lange, if she doesn't win an Emmy for this, it will be a shame.
I cannot get over how much they looked, sounded and moved like these women. Unbelievable.
If you have not seen the original "Grey Gardens" documentary, def check out clips of it before watching the HBO movie.
I loved it. LOVED IT.

Re: what was the last movie you watched
Drew Barrymore is my fave actress. We don't get HBO in Australia. Our free to air TV is like 5 channels...
Pay TV is not a luxury. Its a essential IMO in this country. Normal TV is so boring. Apart from like 3 shows.
While you losers watch Dancing With the Nobodies i'll stick to my Serial Killer Sundays on the crime channel.
Or watch TV over the internet.

^You need to see Grey Gardens, then. Like I said, I don't like her much as an actress, and I LOVED her in this.
She's also fucking GORGEOUS in it. I'm obsessed with it. I'm sure you can find it somewhere.

ME TOO OMG. I was sobbing like a baby at the end.

YES!!! Seriously. Just, GAH. One of my absolutely favorite parts of the documentary is when Big Edie sings "Tea for Two" in bed so I was just floored by that scene in the movie. Absolutely haunted me. I love that it's so accurate from the doc and yet Drew and Jessica never impersonated the Edies. They truly were them.

Re: what was the last movie you watched
Anyone seen [REC]? Delightfully spooky Spanish film. Saw it last night. It apparently got remade by America the same year the Spanish film came out. The remake was called Quarantine and was pretty much shot-for-shot remake but with American actors. I seriously hate how Hollywood just remakes foreign films without telling anybody because they think Americans are too dumb to watch subtitles... how patronising is that?
Anyway, great film. I also watched the making of and for anyone that as seen it... that thing at the end... that was a real person with make up. Those were their actual limbs.
I watched it with Hamish and he was yelping all over the place. It was hilarious.

Re: what was the last movie you watched
Finally got round to watching 'Waiting for Guffman' last night, after borrowing it from my friend about a month ago!
Its a really cool film - I can totally see why it gets compared to SHH - same sort of humour. The character of Corky is a bit like Mr. G. Mr G is funnier and meaner tho.
Anyone else seen it?

I'm really waiting for, wait for it... Star Trek lol. I'm not a Trekkie and have never been interested in the show, but I saw the trailer last night and god it looks spectacular. I'm a bit of a sci-fi nerd and this looks fantastic!
Hopefully lives up to the trailer!
